Some ESCOs offer green plans, which are more expensive than the ConEd
Utility Rate. However, green energy usage in the state
is set by state regulations, so it's hard to know whether buying these
plans will actually increase the supply of green energy
in the state.
For more information on Green Energy, check out Power Scorecard: "The
Power Scorecard is a rating mechanism that assesses the environmental
impact of different types of electric generation. The Power Scorecard
makes it easy for you to plug into cleaner power for the future of the
planet."
