So which ESCO should you choose?

ESCO means "Energy Service Company".

The prices on this page are for electricity supply for Manhattan.

Electricity rates are fluctuating highly now, so it's hard to say whether it's better to switch from Con Ed or to hold tight for now. However, you may save a little by switching to Energetix through PowerMove.  They claim to be 0.1¢/KWH lower than the ConEd utility rate, for a total savings of approximately 2% when you include the 4% PowerMove delivery charge tax savings. Energetix has been higher than ConEd in the past, so no guarantees.  However, there is no charge to switch to another service later. 

Before switching, you should contact the company yourself and read the terms carefully.

WARNING: Do not sign up with an ESCO directly. Instead, sign up through the PowerMove program as described on the HOME page. If you call the ESCO directly for more information, do not give them your ConEd account number. I have a report from a customer that they were switched without permission after giving their account number to a door-to-door salesman.
